Lakisha Boone goes above and beyond every day not only for her patients at LifeCare Hospitals of North Carolina, but also for her family, coworkers and community. A Licensed Practical/ Vocational Nurse, ENT and a mother of four boys, Lakisha still finds the time to get involved in the community as a volunteer firefighter. Now she, her husband, who has been a firefighter for 19 year, and her two oldest sons are selflessly involved in the fire department in Nash County.

A long hospital stay was not how Lance Haley imagined ringing in the 2016 New Year.  Lance had suffered from a recurring wound on his big toe after having stepped on a thorn. The sore, however, hadn’t caused any complications, so it was left to heal naturally.
